Our Story
The person behind zazone has spent most of their life in sales, with over a decade of online retail experience. But beyond the business, there has always been a deeper calling: to support local artists and give their work the platform it deserves. zazone is the realisation of that dream — a space where original, thought-provoking artwork finds its way into homes and hearts across South Africa and beyond.

Meet Yaku
Our first featured artist is Yaku — a formally trained artist and graphic designer who spent many years away from his creative roots. Recently, inspired by his husband, Yaku rediscovered the joy of painting and hasn't looked back since.
Yaku's work is bold, textured, and deeply intentional. He creates art that makes you think — pieces that reward a second look, a third, and a fourth. His signature use of rich texture gives each canvas a physical presence that photographs can only hint at. From dramatic black-and-white compositions to vivid explosions of colour, every painting is a one-of-a-kind original, signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
